About David Morales, Pianist

    With a career spanning more than a decade across Mexico and the United States, Mr. David Morales is a distinguished professional pianist, conductor, and educator with a passion for sharing his musical expertise.

     A native of Matamoros, Mexico, He studied a Master of Music in Piano Performance (The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) under Costa Rican pianist Dr. Juan Pablo Andrade, a Post-Masters Artist Diploma in Piano Performance (Sam Houston State University) studying with the renowned Brazilian pianist and Shigeru Kawai artist, Dr. Diego Caetano and a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance (Colegio de San Juan Siglo XXI).

    As a performer, David has appeared at distinguished venues such as the McAllen Performing Arts Center and Teatro Reforma in Matamoros, presenting solo recitals that highlight both the classical canon and Mexican concert repertoire, including his celebrated program “Música Mexicana del Siglo XIX.” His recent accolades include Third Prize at the Ponce Project International Piano Competition in Houston, TX, 2025, and the Best Interpretation of a Mexican Work at the Parnassós National Piano Competition in 2015.

     In addition to his solo work, David has performed with ensembles such as the Valley Symphony Orchestra and currently serves as Music Director of the Matamoros Municipal Band, promoting symphonic and Mexican music through educational and cultural programs. A dedicated teacher, he has mentored students of all ages, combining his classical expertise with experience across diverse musical genres.

     Driven by a passion for connecting people through music, David Morales continues to share his artistry as a performer, educator, and collaborator, bridging cultures and generations through the universal language of the piano.
